Course Description:

Excelling as a Supervisor, paired with Management, Personnel, and Employee Development Responsibilities and Supervisory Techniques

You earned your supervisory position . . . In your old position you did a great job.  Yet, you’re smart enough to know the skills that made you a great team player won’t necessarily make you a great supervisor or manager.  Before you delegate your first job . . . schedule your first meeting, . . . make your first move of any kind . . . get this training under your belt!

To do the best job leading others, we begin by managing ourselves, creating a work-life balance and developing skills that allow us to lead by setting an example.

This content will assist supervisors in making a successful transition from "co-worker" to "supervisor."  Participants will gain insights for supervising former peers and developing a management style that helps them accomplish goals.

Objectives
  • Evaluate strengths and weakness in self-management and managing others
  • Identify values, belief, and attitudes to foster cohesiveness in a diverse workforce
  • Elicit cooperation and respect by modeling behavior that elicits cooperation and trust
  • Develop flexibility in actions, thoughts, and feelings to create better relationships
  • Manage your day effectively to create a healthy personal/work-life balance
  • Build relationships with people to foster teamwork and cooperation
  • Assemble a success strategy to create the results you want

Target Audience/Advance Preparation:  Administrative and technical professionals, managers, and supervisors who want to develop a better work-life balance for more effective management of themselves and their workplace; and exam test candidates who seek to gain insight into managing themselves through increasing their awareness and developing relationships building skills
