Course Description:

Monitoring Employees' Performance, paired with Management Responsibility:  Performance Evaluations and Supervisory Techniques

Discover the best way to conduct performance management so that your teams know exactly what they do well, and where they can improve.  This LESSON will illustrate for managers and supervisors how performance evaluations can be more meaningful and effective.  Participants will learn and practice methods for articulating clear expectations, assessing and rating performance fairly, and effectively communicating performance ratings at the employee appraisal conference.

Objectives 
o   Revise and update tasks and standards for clarity and significance 
o   Describe and summarize performance observed over the rating period 
o   Apply ratings criteria in a fair and uniform manner 
o   Engage employees in setting goals and developmental planning for the next year    

Targeted Audience/Advanced Preparation:  Administrative and technical professionals, managers, and who want to build and maintain positive workplace relationships; and exam test candidates who want to begin preparing for upcoming civil service exams
